Way of the Peaceful Warrior Book 1

For anyone that has not heard of this book, I would say go to your local book store and pick up a copy, you will not regret it. If you are seeking answers and knowledge that you can use in everyday life, this series of books is for you.  What I found in the pages was eternal knowledge that I already knew existed inside of me, but it was put into simpler form. Not it may books such clarity can be found, as well as depth.

The first book deals with the struggles of a young gymnast, going through life’s challenges. At a certain point of his life, he meets an old man that helps this young man find out who he really is, and to start truly living. The second book deals with the continuing self-discovery of the not so young any more man. The main character travels around the world, in an attempt to find out more about himself. The third book talks about who this mysterious teacher is and where he came from. I have not read the third book yet, still taking in what I discovered about myself with the help of the first two books. I have also recently seen the movie that was based on the first book. Considerable parts of what made the book wonderful were taken out of the movie, but the message remained unharmed. Overall, I recommend the DVD, but it is not a substitute to the book.

Some advice from a person that strives to better himself every day, if the book doesn’t feel right to you, or you sense that there is inner resistance to the messages it contains, put the book down and read something else until you get drawn to the book again, or not. The vessel that revelation comes in matters not, it is what you hear and incorporate into your being that ultimately matters.

Thumbs way up for all the books and the DVD.

Detox for Spring

Detoxing is a very important practice in every day human life. Both physical and emotional cleansing is needed for a person to function. In this age of chemicals and even more chemicals combined with stress, it is even more important to watch what one eats, drink and thinks. On the physical level, the liver is our primary detoxifier.  It performs over 400 tasks in out body. In order for this remarkable organ to keep working  we can aid it in its tasks by taking care of our food intake and by taking the following herbs and roots:

Burdock (cleanses blood)

Dandelion (cleansing herb)

Ginger (increases circulation and aids digestion)

Yellow Dock (helps with absorption)

These are just some of the herbs that will help the liver. Now, there are other organs that are responsible for cleansing the body such as the skin, kidneys, lymph system and not to forget the intestines. There are specific herbs for each system. Sometimes though it feels almost too much when you see that there are so many things you have to take in order to be healthy. The good thing is that you don't have to reinvent the wheel in this case, although you do need to listen to your body and adjust you cleansing according to what you feel your body can handle. There is a very good cleansing program that I would recommend, here is the site address:

http://www.cleanse.net/newsite/index.html

The creator of this program wrote several books on the topic of cleansing. I have read these books and found that there is a lot of truth to what he is saying about the state of people health. The supplements that he is selling are a bit on the pricy side, but worth it since they are top quality. I am in no way paid to promote this site or its products. After trying this system I decided to share it with you on this site. The next blog posting will concentrate more on cleansing by modifying food intake as well as spiritual practices.

Health Care

I n the past and for the most part in the present as well, the health care system around the world has not been very receptive towards the arrival of naturopathic medicine. If you were to try and switch from a regular doctor to a naturopathic one it would cost you an arm and a leg...plus a kidney. But recently there have been more and more companies appearing that accept the alternative therapy insurance claims. There is still a lot of work to be done in the health field since natural medicine is perceived to be nothing more than a fad or quackery. As momentum builds in the world populations need for an alternative way of treatment of various ailments, naturopathic medicine will take its rightful place as a legitimate way of treating and preventing diseases.
